Recognising both her own needs and the shared frustrations of other women, Rosamund Muir founded her eponymous brand to create women's footwear grounded in responsible craftsmanship, with joy and empowerment at its core. Designed with strong women in mind, Rosamund brings a unique British twist to timeless silhouettes. The result is beautiful shoes with enduring spirit, designed to be worn and cherished for years to come.
Originally from Northumberland, Rosamund lived in Italy, Switzerland and France before moving to London to work in Design and Advertising. After becoming a busy mother of three, she chose to pursue her life-long love of footwear, training at London College of Fashion (formerly Cordwainers College) in Footwear Design and Pattern Making.
The Rosamund Muir brand was born from a desire to unite design, craftsmanship and conscious production. Every pair is expertly handmade by a small team of artisans using materials sourced with care. Central to the brand’s ethos is the exclusive use of premium Italian surplus stock leathers — materials that might otherwise go unused and go to waste. By repurposing these existing resources, the brand reduces waste, avoids the environmental impact of commissioning new production and honours the value of already-crafted materials. This commitment is supported by small-batch production, a zero-waste approach and the revival of traditional shoemaking techniques carried out with integrity.
Since launching in March 2020, Rosamund Muir has been recognised by Grazia and Tatler UK as one of the best British brands, by Country & Town House as a Best Sustainable Footwear Brand, and has recently been nominated as Brand of the Year in Drapers Conscious Fashion Awards.
