Drapers change makers

Two flagship events were dedicated to shaping the future of sustainable, responsible, and ethical fashion retail. Previously known as “Drapers Sustainable Fashion Conference and Awards,” we united visionary leaders, industry pioneers, and innovative thinkers to explore advancements in ethical practices and circular-economy models within the fashion industry.

From working conditions in fashion retail’s supply chain to recycling and repair, to traceability, we tackled a wide variety of themes. Attendees joined us to be part of the movement towards a more sustainable future in fashion. Together, we redefined the standards of the industry and paved the way for a more ethical and circular approach to fashion retail.

Championing responsible business

The Drapers Conscious Fashion Awards recognise the progress that the industry is making in reducing its impact on the environment and improving working conditions for people throughout the supply chain.

Launched as Drapers Sustainable Fashion Awards in 2020, the evolution of this market-leading programme reflects how far fashion retail has come in embedding sustainability in all aspects of operations, and that it is now a non-negotiable.

Powering responsible business

Drapers Conscious Fashion Summit brought together more than 300 individuals, from C-suite executives to heads of department, across leading fashion brands and retailers, innovative start-ups, SMEs, and suppliers.

At the time, we were five years away from the deadline for reaching the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development set by the United Nations, represented by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. We discussed and collaborated on how fashion retail could improve its social impact for all stakeholders in its supply chain, as well as shared innovative approaches to product and production that underpinned a more sustainable, transparent, and ethical future.
